Magistrates’ Court Mock Trial Competition for Schools 2020
As High Sheriff, I am delighted to be the Patron of the Magistrates’ Court Mock Trial Competition for Schools in Berkshire for 2020.
I am writing to invite you to attend the heats for the competition which are held on two Saturdays, as detailed below, at Reading Crown Court. Your presence at the Regional Final in May would also be greatly appreciated when my successor as High Sheriff will preside.
Following the great success of last year’s competition, where Ranelagh School in Bracknell won 1st place in the National Finals, we have 28 teams from Berkshire schools taking part.
There will be three sessions for the heats on the following dates:
Saturday 14th March 9.00 am – 12.45 pm
Saturday 14th March 1.15 pm – 5.00 pm
Saturday 21st March 9.00 am – 12.45 pm
Please note that the Regional Final will be on Saturday 16th May 2020, 9.00 am – 12.45 pm, again at Reading Crown Court.
I encourage you to attend at least part of the competition as your presence makes a huge difference to the schools who take part. Please complete the form below, indicating your preferred session/s, as soon as possible and by 28th February.
You will be sent directions, names of the schools taking part, details of the legal case to be argued and full details of the programme nearer to the date.
I look forward to seeing you at this worthwhile and enormously exciting competition.
Please complete the form below or if you have any difficulties with seeing it on your device please use this instead (will open in a new window)
Lucy Zeal
High Sheriff of Berkshire
